In observance of possibly one of the greatest companions in Doctor Who's passing, I decided I'd do a Male!Sarah Jane Smith costume for DragonCon this year. Essentially a male version of the infamous AndyPandy Dungarees Elizabeth Sladen wore in Doctor Who: The Hand of Fear.

At this point, I have not stencilled on the three stars pattern that goes on the shirt yet. However, everything else is done. The seersucker hat was an E-Bay find. The vest and pants were sewn for me by my good fiancee'. The shirt is a red raglan mid sleeve tee that the dungaree logo will go on.

In other props, there I mean to include the 3rd/4th doctor's Screwdriver prop. I sort of used a fliptop Star Wars Episode 1 watch as a stand in for the Sarah Jane Adventures Alien Detector Watch (Those things go for 40 freaking dollars!)

I made my own Eldraad ring with a tiny cameo frame, some blue LED lights, a rubber ring, and some resin. As to what's around my neck, I made my own Warpstar; the necklace Sarah had in the new series on Davros' Dalek Death Star. Mine is a 22mm Quartz Crystal, with copper wire and sculpey with a lick of gold paint.

I figure if Sarah Jane was an independant news wire journalist, then I can be Sawyer James Smith, freelance photographer.
